Welcome to the Farm

Fentongollan Farm covers 2000 acres of prime agricultural land in the south west of Cornwall on and around the beautiful Tregothnan Estate and the Roseland Peninsula, where the Hosking family has farmed as tenants of Lord Falmouth for 125 years. The present family partnership is Jim and Jill Hosking, with their sons James and Jeremy.
The farm specialises in four main areas:
- seedlings for the county's vegetable growers
- flowers and flower bulbs for the wholesale and consumer markets
- cereal production -mainly wheat, oats and barley
- livestock - sheep for breeding stock and early lambs

Flowers and bulbs

Fentongollan Farm cultivates over 250 varieties of daffodils on 170 acres of dedicated farm land.
The farm sends out cut flowers and bulbs to individuals, florists and businesses, wholesalers and packers in this country and beyond. In addition, the farm also retails other bulbs, such as tulips and hyacinths, mainly to the end consumer market.

Cereals

Fentongollan farm 1000 acres of cereals, the cropping is predominantly feed wheat with milling oats and spring beans as the break crops, whilst the straw is sold to local livestock farmers.
In 2006 Fentongollan produced 2700 tons of grain. Cereals

Sheep

Fentongollan Farm has one of Cornwall’s largest flocks totalling approximately 1800 breeding purebred Dorset ewes.
The farm supplies Waitrose with ‘Farmhouse Dorset Lamb' and supply Ewe lambs to other farms for breeding stock. Sheep

Vegetable Seedlings

Fentongollan Farm is at the centre of the green vegetable industry in Cornwall, supplying over 80% of seedlings required by Cornish growers, who in turn supply all of the major supermarkets.
In 2006, Fentongollan raised over 105 million seedlings for growing, by regional farmers who supply all the major supermarkets with fresh vegetables
